  2. Week 1 How can they help the world? What are robots? What can they do?

  4. Your Elegant Task You are a world-class Robotics Designer. Using bold marker lines and cross-hatching, design a robot that can help make your school a better place.

  5. Shapes in a drawing • Robots are made of different shapes. • Can you identify the basic shapes in this robot?

  6. Can you spot the regular and irregular shapes? What’s the difference?

  7. Robotplan • On your sketchbook, write down what your Bot can do. For example, “Pick up litter”. • List at least three of your Bot’s capabilities. Task 1: Draw a robot using different shapes and lines. Task 2: Outline your robot using a black marker.

  8. Week 2-3 ‘Hatching’ is a technique of shading using lines. It is used to show detail or lighting. Cross-Hatching

  9. Point out the areas where hatching is used to create detail! Point out the areas where hatching is used to show lighting!

  10. Cross-hatching needs to be done with thin lines. A darker shade can be created using more lines. Use a dark pencil and make quick strokes.

  11. Artist’s Write-up Write a short paragraph, describing the various features of your robot and how it can help your school.

  12. Week 3 Gallery Walk! Help your teacher put up all the robots in your classroom. Walk around and place a comment on a post-it on your favourite piece, telling the artist why you like his/her work.
