PUBLIC SERVICE REQUIREMENTS PROCESS REQUIREMENTS • All departments produce and submit Plans: • Departmental Strategic Plans • Align Structure to the Strategy • Provide Human Resource Plan • Develop a Policy for and Match & Place Personnel into established posts • Redeployment and Training (excess staff)
DCS PERFORMANCE • Draft Updated Strategic Plan • Provided framework structure for department (detailing micro elements of structure and competencies) • Started collection of personal profiles • Began communication with staff and consultation with unions
DEPT STRUCTURE • Provinces consolidated into 6 regions • Recognition of additional Programmes • Consolidation of Management Areas from145 to 48 • Creation of strong management and focused resources to Correctional Centres • Structure be premised on strategy
