  2. Session aims: • To highlight some of the problems that students face with spelling. • To provide some helpful strategies to support spelling at home.

  19. A bit of help with the start of a word can be useful. You could find words from your child’s exercise books to create this. Even better, allow them the time to create one for themselves. The images will help visual learners to remember them!

  20. Word shapes One strategy we can use to help us with the spelling of a word is to think… Does it look right? We can often see that we have made a mistake by looking at the shape of the word.
