I. Where Does The Devil Fish ? Not with the sinners – Already has Them on his line 1. Among Righteous People - Godly Job 1:6-11 “one that feareth God” Peter – Luke 22:31 “Satan hath desired to have you,...”
2. Among the young people Not committed yet Not much experience Keep them Open Season All year
II. What kind of Equipment does He Have ? Very Best - II Cor. 2:11 Devices = schemes - designs His Hooks are: 1. Teachers – 2 Cor. 11:13-15 2. His Children 1 Cor. 15:33 Acts 13:10
3. His disciples They are fishers of men Recruit others to help Sinner delights to have a Christian fall into sin
III. What Kind of Bait Does He use? 1. Ignorance Ignorant of God and His word Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,...” Rom. 10:3 “For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness,...”
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Ps. 119:11
III. What Kind of Bait Does He use? 2. Laziness Easy way – do the least Partial obedience Saul – 1 Sam. 15:22 Partial obedience is Really disobedience
3. Deception Makes people think bad is good Gen. 3 = Adam and Eve Rev. 12:9 “deceiveth the whole world.” Satan tried to deceive Christ – Mt. 4
4. Neglectfulness Attendance – Heb. 10:25 Visiting the sick – Jas. 1:27 Teaching the lost – Matt. 28:18-20 Being a good example – Matt. 5:16
5. Greediness Love of money leads to many sins 1 Tim. 6:9-10 Lures us into thinking that money and possessions are the purpose of life.
6. Selfishness Selfish people do not have love for others Satan wants us to love self supremely John 13:35NKJV “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
7. Immodest clothing Satan wants you to think... Everyone else is wearing it It’s much cooler Not my fault if others lust 1 Tim. 2:9-10 “modest apparel” Rom. 14:13 “stumblingblock”
8. Grumbling The Devil wants us to grumble about the good that is done. 1 Cor. 10:10 “Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.”

The Devil has one weakness He cannot stand it if he does not get a nibble Greek “anti” “histemi” “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Jas. 4:7 Vanish, escape Stand against
