Jung Said and studied!... • Jung said that there are two types of attitudes and it begins quite early in life. • Each person is unique under these two categories. • He studied dream interpretation with Freud’s studies.
Analytical Psychology • The balance between the opposite forces of personalities. • Conscious- Unconscious • Rational- Irrational • Shy-Talkative • Expectations-Memories • Young-Old
Extroverted Attitude Weaknesses Characteristics • “a standpoint characterized by an outward flowing of personal energy” • They often are very sociable, outgoing, motivated by environment, and is usually optimistic • Want to make a good impression • Fast to make and break relationships • Avoid being alone • Cannot easily judge themselves
IntrovertedAttitude: Weaknesses: Characteristics: • Likes to be alone • Has inward energy but prefers to not show outward • Reflects on activity • Lacks self confidence • Unsociable or shy • Has a few close friends
People either think in.. Judging Perceiving • Taking in information and understanding it. • Quick to make decisions and rushing through tasks. Whoops!
Controlling personality • When someone loses one of these, they disconnect the balance of judging and perceiving. (Judging horizontal, perceiving vertical.) • One function might be blocked from someone telling them they should not feel that way or to “man up”.
