What Courses am I required to take? GS21 1018 Foundations of Biomedical Research (GSBS Core Course) GS21 1014 Ethical Dimensions of Biomedical Sciences GS21 1151 Science Writing (or a Program-based writing course) GS00 1514 Tutorial Research Experience (3X) Plus: Courses required by your graduate program (usually 3-4 courses). In most cases all coursework will be completed before PhD candidacy Remember: You must register each semester, even if you are not taking a didactic course!

First Year PhD Students are Required to take the Core Course Exceptions: Medical Physics – Do not take the GSBS Core Course Neuroscience - Core Course is optional – Discuss with Dr. Bean Quantitative/Computational students Have the option to take GS21 1018 Foundations of Biomedical Research for Quantitative Students with permission from OAA. Academic Advising Today 2:30 PM – Informal Q&A Session Bunny Perez – Computer lab: help with Registration Brenda Gaughan and Bill Mattox – Available all week All students should have a 30 minute advising session at OAA before September 5th. We will again schedule short advising sessions with everyone at end of Fall Semester.
