Filtering and young people • Under 12s accompanied by an adult at time of booking and for duration of Internet session • 12-16 year olds require a parent or guardian’s signature on a permission form before allowed on-line
The way forward • Additional library dedicated filtering software – WebSense • Set up our own parameters • Introduce pro-active filtering • Generate our own usage reports • Reduce staff monitoring • Reduce inconsistencies • Booking software • Reduce procedural inconsistencies • Provide an automated ‘audit trail’ • Review computer housekeeping
