2. Directions The 2010 Liver Walk & 5K Run will be hosted on the campus of UAB at the Campus Green. The Campus Green is located on the corner of University Boulevard and 15th Street South, next to the new Campus Recreation Center (1501 University Boulevard). Parking is available in the 9th Avenue Parking deck - off of University Boulevard, between University and 9th Avenue South

3. Our Cause Our cause remains the same: expanding the patient and community education services of the UAB Liver Center. The center is committed to delivering keyhealth messages outside the walls of the hospital and into the community, making life-saving information convenient and accessible to patients wherever they live. The patients and families accessing these services come from every part of our community. They are our friends, employees, co-workers, neighbors and family members, and many of them are fighting for their lives. With your help, we will be able to provide continued education and wellness information to help fight liver disease. Last year our volunteer team raised money for the UAB Liver Center, providing much needed funding for patient and community education and helping to continue the Liver U: Straight Talk for Your Health program implemented after the first walk in 2008. In 2010, we are setting our sights even higher, for the needs and opportunities are greater than ever. UAB Liver Center sees patients from across Alabama and the Southeast each year – men, women and children who need the best and latest information on how to live with, and most important, how to prevent, chronic liver disease.
