  15. A child dies every three seconds from extreme poverty, often before they turn 5. Nearly 1/3 of children in Sub-Saharan Africa are underweight

  17. What can we do to help? Participate in the CROP WALK!

  18. What is a CROP Hunger Walk? Neighbors walking together to take a stand against hunger in our world. CROP Walks are used to raise awareness and funds for international relief and development, as well as local hunger-fighting.

  20. How do you participate? It’s easy! • Decide to walk • Get sponsored in order to raise money • Go walk

Where does the money we raise go? • 75% of the money goes to fight international hunger through Church World Service • 25% stays local • Recipient of local services is: Clemson Community Care (CCC) • According to the 2009 CCC Annual Report: • $298,146.06 was disbursed for hunger • 9,298 individual people were served • 144,456 pounds of food were distributed

Fun Ideas for the Walk • Make a banner for a country and carry it as a group when you walk • Make T-shirts to represent a country with and wear them during the walk • Carry a bucket of water to symbolize the people who must collect and carry their water every day flickr.com/photos/14771153@N04/2954957955
