Community Care History • North Ridgeville’s Community Care is a 100% community based organization. All services are provided through community donations, community support and volunteers. • They receive NO money from the state or federal government.
Community Cares’ Beginnings Community Care began right here in our Middle School!
Horizon Students run it ALL! • The students design collection boxes for each class team. • The students write and perform the morning announcements to promote the food drive • The students design and distribute flyers and posters to promote the food drive. • Each day the horizon students use carts and collect the food from each classroom. • Each day the horizon students count, sort, and graph the collected food. • Each day the horizon students box, bag and load the food into the vehicles for delivery.
The Horizon Students collect nearly 2000 Items for Community Care’s Holiday Food Pantry!!!!!
Recognition • Local Newspaper features an article on the project. • June Yost mentions the afterschool program in a separate article about Community Care.
The impact our project had on the community was huge. It brought the students, staff, and community closer together.
