  5. Classroom Guidance Lessons • Systematic • Developmentally appropriate • Taught to meet the Standards of School Counseling Programs in Virginia Public Schools • Three Domains • Academic Development • Career Development • Personal/Social Development

  6. Small Group & Individual Counseling • Focus on concerns that are impacting student’s ability to learn at school • Skill based

  7. Responds to Student Needs in Crisis Situations • Examples: bullying, family crisis • Collaborates & consults with appropriate people during crisis • Parents/Guardians • Administration • Faculty

  8. Referral Process Participation • Participates actively in the referral process of students to special programs and/or services

  9. Consultation • Parents • Staff • Administration • Outside Agencies

  10. Orients Students To New School Settings • Parent conference • Teacher updates • “Lunch Bunch”
