Habitat Birds can be found in every habitat all over the world. Some live in a nest and they make it with sticks. Some live in the artic icy region
Warm blooded It means their body temperatures does not change that much They control their body temperature by getting energy from food.
Life cycle They start out in an egg The egg hatches They stay in the nest when they are young Their parents take care of them until the are big enough to live on their own Then they are a adult bird and their cycle starts all over again
Reproduce They lay eggs and the eggs have strong shells
Special body parts Beaks: They are sharp on the ends They open there beak wide. They have different beaks for the type of food they eat. Talons: To grab prey or to perch on a branch or a pet will perch on your finger
Special Body Parts Wings: They have hallow arm bones and they keep the bird up in the air. Penguins can not fly, they use their wings as flippers to swim underwater Feathers: They can help to camouflage and keep the birds warm and their skin dry.
Interesting facts Hummingbirds can fly backwards. There are about 10,000 different species of birds worldwide.

Migration Birds sometimes fly country to country. This is called migration. An example of a bird that does this is a Swallow Birds may migrate to places with food. Birds often migrate in flocks and sometimes fly in a V shape. Not all birds migrate the same way. Birds can fly really far to migrate. Like to North America and South America.
