Objectives WP7 aims to assess the overall research quality and capability of KIS in order to: • validate the project achievements • determine the most appropriate ways and methods to preserve KIS 'excellence' • explore project contribution to the Slovenian sustainable development WP leader: dr. Andrej Simončič

  3. Description of work Access to information: in order to properly nominate the independent experts, KIS will send to the Commission all necessary information on the basis of which the latter will appoint independent experts and their Chairman. KIS will send to the EC: • Information concerning the Institute such as size, number of departments and thematic research, • number of laboratories, partnerships and projects participation etc. • Information concerning the implementation of the project and main achievements such as periodic and final management reports, reports on equipment and knowledge increase, report on the events which KIS organised or participated in, etc.

  4. Evaluation sessions • T7.1 First Evaluation session Once acquainted with the project, experts will come for seven days for a first evaluation round. The following themes will be scrutinised: equipment installation, research agenda, management, project results according to the work programme and objectives and beyond; sustainability of results achieved. The results of this evaluation will be discussed jointly with KIS to determine the most appropriate ways and methods to preserve KIS’s excellence and to explore its contribution to the regional/local sustainable development. • T7.2 Second Evaluation session A meeting gathering the experts, KIS managers, local authorities or/and national RTD bodies will be organised (discuss and agree on options for the future research orientations of KIS) A final report will be issued (M42)
