Limited infrastructures for animal and plant health in DRC hinder the quality improvement of agricultural products, posing risks to consumers. This presentation outlines the problem, explains the challenges, proposes strategies, and offers recommendations. The main issues include tsetse fly attacks on animals and Cassava mosaic disease affecting plants, with inadequate prevention facilities. Strategies aim to engage stakeholders to address underlying problems and promote plant-based diets to reduce demand for treatments. Recommendations emphasize building a robust knowledge infrastructure, focusing on mass intervention, fostering public-private partnerships, and ensuring sustainability.

CONSTRAINT IN IMPLEMENTATION OF AGRICULTURE PROTECTION IN DRC
Outline Presentation • Problem • Explanation • Strategies • Recommendation
Problem Infrastructures for Animal and Plant health are limited. This situation prevents the improvement in the quality of Animal and vegetal products, which is a danger for consumers.
Justification • The problem of poor infrastructures prevents the states to insure production of high standards products for the local markets and eventually exports. The main animal problem is the attack of tsetse fly. The main vegetal health problem is the mosaic of Cassava. However, laboratories and infrastructures to prevent those diseases are very limited.
Strategies • To initiate discussion and encourage governments, public bodies and other institutions to address the root causes of global issues affecting agriculture protection in DRC. • To promote proven plant-based diet, thus avoiding the rising demand and higher costs of treatments
Strategies cont.… • Establishment of agriculture Information platform or network to provide advice and support for farmers as well as information on addressing causes of agriculture protection-related illness.
Recommendation • A strong knowledge Infrastructure • Focus and mass • Public-private partnerships • Acceptance and sustainability
