Special education teacher • I like being with kids. I love seeing kids take things away from what I teach them. Special kids make me laugh and are fun to be around and seeing how much they really know when you push them the be the best. I love teaching kids new things and see their reactions to things about it.

Training requirements • Pass the CBEST (California Basic Assessment Educational Skills Test). • Prove subject matter competence. This can be done by passing the CSET in your subject area. • Pass the RICA (Reading Instruction Competence Assessment). • Finish an official Special Education Credential preparation program that includes student teaching in your chosen specialty.
Training requirements • U.S. Constitution requirement. • Receive an offer of employment from a school. • If you pass the CBEST and CSET, some universities offer special internship options. They allow you to teach.
