    3. Structure of Proteins Contain the elements carbon (C), hydrogen (H), oxygen (O) + nitrogen (N). Some contain sulfur or phosphorus. Building blocks are amino acids.

    4. Structure of Proteins Amino acid structure fig 6.1 Carbon backbone with an acid group (COOH) on one end and an amino group (NH3) on the other. Side chain varies and gives the amino acid unique properties.
