Getting Brainy By Priya Bharadia
BRAINWAVES The fantastic class of 6JC have been looking at the brain. It’s the most complex and mind-boggling part of the body, but research actually went well. We learnt more about the brain then ever before. We engaged the learning of parts of the brain, how we remember, why a sheep is so unintelligent ( ahem! ) and much, much more!
Types of Intelligences THE SHEEP INCIDENT Did you know there are types of clever people! No, we didn’t either! Your class know-it-all isn’t the only clever clogs – you’re one too! You can be smart at: Word Smart Number Smart Memory Smart Sports Smart Music Smart Self Smart People Smart Organised Smart Year 6 set out finding theirs and others intelligences. Why don’t you? Now this is an event we will NEVER forget! It was an ordinary day for Year 6 when after the register the teachers led us up to the Assembly Hall. We were all clueless… that is until we saw what was there! A tiny sheep’s brain was lying on a tray next to Mr Hanstock. It was revolting! One Year 6 pupil had thought it was a human brain, which on the whole is quite frightening. The next half an hour was a success. Its was gory, gruesome, interesting and actually helped! This was an unforgettable experience- 6JC, 6CB and 6KH
Project Time! Of course, this is the moment Year 6 look forward to – HALF TERM! Well not this year! Miss Chohan, Miss Berry and Mr Hanstockhad decided to set us a two week project on creating a beautiful book about how to learn at your best. We all tried our hardest, and when we got out results…WOW!!! “ We went through a lot to do it, I’m proud of the result.” “ Little tip for everyone. Even if you don’t want to, just try. I was worried I’d leave it last minute, but everyday I did something and soon I had it all done!” This is the outcome of a two week project from Year 6. Pretty professional, huh?
