  4. NIMSL History 2001 NEI conducted the Nuclear Records Management Benchmarking project Data collected from 32 nuclear sites and analyzed to determine what factors contributed most to the ability to have an effective Nuclear Records Management Program

NIMSL History Benchmarking Project identified the following factors as critical to overall success of a Nuclear Records Management Program - Record Integrity - Maximizing Resources - Organizational Relationships - Archival Media Management - Availability of Information - Process Alignment - Developing Technology - Strategic Planning

Advantages of CoP Participation • Provide leadership, focus, and support to the IM community • Share information within the IM community and other CoPs (i.e., benchmarking common contributors and best practices) • Assure problems and issues are identified and resolved • Act in concert to achieve common objectives • Provides an excellent learning environment • Provide opportunity for professional growth • Provide input both professionally and for your company as part of an ongoing national dialogue • Establish and maintain an active and engaged network of benchmarking contacts
