Porter • Confederate leaders were Major General W.H.C Whiting , Robert F. Hoke • Casualties- • Union- 1,338’ • Confederate- 583 • The significance of this battle is the union closed down the last remaining confederate port
The Battle of Appomattox Courthouse • Dates: April 9th 1865 • Location: Appomattox Virginia • Union leader was general Ulysses S Grant • Confederate leader was General Robert E Lee • Casualties: • Union- 164 • Confederate- 500 and 27,800 surrendered • The significances of this battle was it was the end of the civil war
