Application of Network Management • We are managing a Network of Indian Railways ( Microwave Repeater Station ) which is a main source of Communication media for Indian Railways. • What We have a Number of Divisions in the Regional Railways e.g.. Western Railways, and these Divisions are having divisional HQ.
NMS These divisional Head Quarters are looking after the administration of Railways Traffic in the division. All divisions are almost having Railway Track of almost 200 to 250 kms. Consisting 5 to 7 Repeaters of Microwave Network in the division. The mainpurpose of These repeater is to boost the signal and continue the communication link for smooth working in the division.
NMS by DIPl, Indore India • Every Repeater Station is isolated by almost 55 to 60 kms. Distance ,this depends upon the terrain of the region. • There are many equipment housed at these stations in order to make communication workable, like Transmitters (2 nos.) , Receivers( 02), +24 V Power Supply , stand by supply (secondary) using Battery Bank, Stand by Battery Bank, D/ Generator set, Battery Charger, Float, SPV Supply , Air conditioner Set etc.
NMS by DIPL, Indore.India. • These Transmitters and Receivers are having many important Analog and Digital signals. These Signals are presently monitored Manually , i.e.. 24 hrs . Man Power is provided at all these locations. But efficiency and duty attendance is poor. In order to get better efficiency ;we have devised a system called NMS for MW . • Almost 100 + Analog and 56 + Digital Important Signals are required to be monitored and some to the extent of 16 Digital Out Signals for controlling devices like • Switching of Transmitter, • Switching of Receivers, • Switching of Battery Bank from Load to Charger and Charger to Load in secured way . • Switching On/ off Diesel Generator Set • Switching On/ Off SPV supply . • Monitoring of Room Temp & Switching Air conditioner. • And On top of this all Remotely sitting at the Divisional Railways HQ.
NMS by DIPL, Indore. India • One can do it using system developed by us. • We have Developed following components • Data Loggers stationed at all the stations for Data acquisition of the signals of local station.Compatible to requirement of nos. of Analog and Digital Signals. • These Data Loggers are connected to each other in daisy chaining /Multi drop Network topology and finally to FEP Front End Processor and then To FAS Front Analyzer System through Memory Buffer. Application software and Truth / Lookup tables are residing in FIFO memory Buffer.

NMS by DIPL, Indore. India • Connectivity of Network • All the Data Loggers are connected to Radio link of Microwave through Modem which is addressable. • FEP is connected to Memory Buffer and keep acquiring data from Buffer. • Memory Buffer is in continuos poling mode and keep acquiring data from all the data loggers . • FAS is connected to FEP and can remotely access and control the activity of the system.
