    1. Short Vowel Sounds by Melynn Bailey & Kelly Stover Purpose: To select the picture with the correct vowel sounds. Directions: Select the picture for each vowel sound.

    2. Remember: /a/ means the short a sound /e/ means the short e sound /i/ means the short i sound /o/ means the short o sound /u/ means the short u sound

    3. Aa Click on the picture that has the /a/.

    4. Good try! Hint: Bus does have a short vowel sound, but it is the /u/, not the /a/. Click on the arrow to go back and try again!

    5. Good try! Hint: Car does not have the /a/, but it does have an r-controlled /a/. Click on the arrow to go back and try again!
