Olympic’s Drapery • Mosses cover the Rain Forest, drenched in water and nutrients. • Mosses cease Photosynthesis during dry times and become dormant. • Reawaken only when rain begins to flow.
The Giants of the Forest • Sitka Spruce and Western Hemlock dominate the Rain Forest, growing to great extremes. • Western Hemlock: 241 feet tall! 270 inches thick!
Who Lives There? • The thick and protective vegetation also provides excellent habitats for the animals of the Rain Forest.
