Teacher Page Title Introduction Challenge TEAMS Evaluation Conclusion Credits Introduction All living things reproduce and the similarities and differences between animals and their offspring variate from one species to another. Although each living thing is different from others, the phases of its life cycle are predictable. It will be your job to investigate, observe and record these life cycle phases. The information that you find will help your team to share in informing other classmates about the differences and similarities between living organisms. Each team will be assigned an animal to research. Your team will become informed of the stages and time period of the life cycle of the animal that you are researching, the things it needs to survive, and some other interesting facts about your animal. Your team will use internet resources to gather information and answer the questions that you are asked. Your team will then put the information together in order to make: 1. A report to the class 2. A strip drawing (like a comic strip) of the stages of the animal's life cycle 3. Other pictures or information you would like to add. Click TEAMS on the menu at the top of the page

What are the names of each of the stages of a butterfly's life cycle? • Begin your strip drawing by viewing the first stage of the life cycle: The Egg. • Explain and draw a picture of the butterfly at this stage of its life cycle. • When finished, click on Larva. Explain and draw the larva stage on your paper. • When finished, click on Pupa. Explain and draw the pupa stage on your paper. • When finished, click on Adult. • Explain and draw a picture of the butterfly at this stage of its life cycle. Before the students begin their investigations you may find it necessary to place them in teams and assign each team an animal to investigate. It will be the job of each group of students to investigate, observe and record animal life cycles. This webquest will give you a chance to assess a student's ability to: 1. Actively participate in the learning process. 2. Acquire knowledge and skills necessary to gather, analyze, and apply ideas utilizing technological tools in a variety of formats. 3. Communicate within and beyond the classroom. 4. Creatively display acquired information
