Tuesday 16th November On 16th November 1830, St. Aloysius School officially became one of the schools of the Sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus. Now called Maria Fidelis Convent School FCJ, we give thanks for all God has done in these 180 years.
St. Aloysius School – c.1830 (a.k.a Maria Fidelis Convent School FCJ – Upper School) - this is now where the Technology Block, and Car Park are.

Marie Madeleine was inspired by the group of religious called The Jesuits and found that their way of following Jesus was what she wanted for women. This Prayer of Generosity was written by St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of The Jesuits. Lord Jesus, teach me to be generous; teach me to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labour and not to seek reward, except that of knowing that I do your will. Amen.

Friday 19th November Since the arrival of Marie Madeleine and Julie Guillemet in Somers Town in 1830, the FCJ Sisters have since spread across the UK, now working in many towns and cities across England.
In the Cathedral we will be joined by members of our ‘sister’ schools across England and the Channel Islands. Upton Hall School, FCJ Upton, The Wirral, Bellerive FCJ Catholic College, Liverpool Gumley House Convent School FCJ Isleworth, Middlesex, Greater London FCJ Primary School, Jersey Channel Islands Together we will give thanks for the 180 years presence of the FCJ Sisters in Somers Town, in England.
