Streamlined Assessment Policy • Reaffirms SUNY’s longstanding commitment to assessment to enhance excellence • Builds on success of earlier policies • Aligns requirements of New York State, SUNY, Middle States & programmatic accreditation • Expects campuses to meet or exceed Middle States standards by assessing: • Institutional Effectiveness • Academic Programs – student learning outcomes & external review • General Education – SUNY-GER student learning outcomes 5
Streamlined Assessment Policy (con’t) • Asks campuses to send e-copy of all accreditation determinations to • SUNY Provost within 30 daysof receipt • Gives SUNY Provost new role to: • --review official determinations of accreditation bodies & assisting • campuses as needed • --work with leadership, faculty and others to implement the policy • --provide resources to ensure consultation and assistance, including • the formation of an assessment advisory group 6
