The Great Mother • Juno was the highest goddess, she was called “Great Mother”. • Juno is represented by the full moon, and was responsible for giving the people light during the night. • Juno was most powerful Roman goddess.
Expectations • Juno was expected to guard the finances of the empire. • Month of June (named after Juno) a favorable time to marry. • Juno was expected to watch over women and guard them from evil.
Worship • A festival called Matronalia was held in her honor on March first. • Another festival, called Nonae Caprotinae ("The Nones of the Wild Fig") was held on July 7th. • Cedar & Nutmeg was burned in her honor.
