Introduction Another aspect of TSB is that it is also responsible for the application of ITU-T Recommendations on Operation and Numbering issues, and to make known these Recommendations to Administrations and Telecom Operators: • Collects and Disseminates Information • Publishes the Operational Bulletin • Maintain an ITU-T website on numbering • Assigns Codes and Numbers • Acts as Registrar for Global Numbers Telecommunication Standardization Bureau
Responsibilities To collect and disseminate information from Administrations/ROAs according to Article 8 of ITR (WATTC-88) and Article No. 202 of the ITU Convention (PP-98); using: • Circular Letters • Questionnaires • Correspondence Telecommunication Standardization Bureau
ITU Operational Bulletin • Operational Bulletin: • Telegram/Telex • Telephone service • Mobile Phones • Data • Changes in Administrations • Maritime Mobile Service • Other information, etc. • Favoured medium for more than 40 years • Issued twice a month (1st and 15th each month) in 3 languages, 24 issues per year. • Contains information about: http://www.itu.int/itu-t/bulletin/index.html Telecommunication Standardization Bureau

Issuer Identifier Numbers (IIN) • See ITU-T Recommendation E.118 - Based on ISO-7812 • TSB acts as Registrar, List of IIN annexed to O.B. No.757 (1.II.2002) • Used for Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards. Format = 89 + E.164 country code + two or three digits, e.g. Botswana: 89 267 01 • A single IIN is assigned to Card Issuers from the ITU’s block of “89” Telecommunication Standardization Bureau
Signalling Area Network Code (SANC) • International Signalling Point Code (ISPC) is used to identify a signalling point within international signalling system No.7 network • ISPC = 14-bit binary code • SANC = combination of NML and K-D • CBA identifies a specific signalling point which, when combined with SANC, = 14-bit ISPC • Administrations responsible for allocation of ISPCs: Rec. ITU IND AESA See O.B.
