LinkedIn connects you to those in your network. You can search for people in your network and in your area of business. More formal than Facebook Profile is resume-like
Facebook • Facebook can be used for social connections with friends, colleagues, highschool classmates, etc. Or you can make it more formal for business networking.
Get Your Name Out There, But Protect your Privacy! • Here's a good link to learn about Facebook privacy settings. You don't want just anyone viewing your profile unless it is a purely business profile.
Twitter = Facebook on Crack! • Use Tweetdeck to organize your tweets. • Use proper etiquette • Post a bio so people will follow you when you follow them.
Really, the question is To be Found or Not to be Found? Design a site – that's easy My brother designed mine. Who finds you? Depends on SEO – not so easy Google ranking is huge. Google alerts lets you know where you are. Websites – to be or not to be?
Googlebots – They are your friends! • Sounds a little creepy – googlebots. But, think of them as little spider things that creep all over your webpage or blog and identify the purpose of the page. Helping Googlebots identify you is an integral part of SEO to increase your rank on google.
Blogging...Isn't that for kids? Nope. It's is the best way to generate business online, IMHPEO (In my honest partially educated opinion! :)) Try Blogger(easier) or Wordpress (harder, but you can do so much more with it) So much you can do I can't put it all here, but blog away!
