Wrapping it Up First thing, everyday, is to complete your journal entry. This composition notebook stays in class. “Thank you” takes but one breathe and shows appreciation. Two syllables… Respect your school. Respect your classmates. Respect me. Respect yourself. Never ask to get a drink of water during class. Never ask to go to the bathroom during class unless it is an emergency. Wait for a “transitional” moment. Do your homework. Always. It is your responsibility to get it if you are absent. If you lose it, you may see if there are extra copies. Movies/films are a privilege. Listen without judgment. Listen to learn. You may actually find something new that interests you. Remember your standard classroom rules that you’ve been learning for the past six years of school…raise your hand, etc. I love social studies and I think you will, too. But, if you don’t, you don’t need to tell me so. Some things should be kept private and to yourself. The end…and the beginning of a new school year. School is what you make it. You’re in a GREAT school with a staff that sincerely cares for and about you. Never, ever take that for granted. Please share this with your parent(s).
