CBMP is a network of networks, coordinating monitoring efforts across marine, coastal, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems in the Arctic. It aims to provide an integrated approach to monitoring Arctic biodiversity. The program outputs data through the Arctic Biodiversity Data Service. Explore the Seabird Information Network for a demo of the data.

How can SAON Develop in the Areas of Better Coordination (Observing & Data Access) • Coordinated Observing – many pan-Arctic coordinated networks (e.g. CALM, CARMA, ITEX, etc…) in place already so best to help them thru facilitating ongoing funding support • Data Access- don’t reinvent the wheel as there are a number of initiatives underway to improve data access (ABDS being just one of them) – perhaps SAON could determine key remotely sensed products/data layers needed by multiple groups and help find funding for the development of them.
