Research on Napoleon The French people accepted Napoleon as their dictator two times even though they had recently gone through a revolution against a monarchy. Ultimate goal you will decided Napoleon’s fate after his exile of 1814 to Elba. Working in a group of 2-3 and Stookey will be assigning you roles for an activity Wednesday.
Research on Napoleon • When you are researching keep these things in mind: • The goals and ideals of the French Revolution • Napoleon’s accomplishments and failures up to 1814 • The return of the monarchy under Louis XVIII
Committee Work • Each committee (groups of 2-3) is to create a consensus out of the views of it’s 3-4 members. You may have opposing views but must come to a consensus. • One person from each committee will report it’s decision on Wednesday. Today you will research individually and on Wednesdaywill meet and discuss.
Committee Work • One person in your group will research Napoleon’s accomplishments (more military and expanding his empire) up to 1814 • One person will research Napoleon the dictator-what kind of government policies did he implement? How did he treat the people? • One person will research what the Napoleonic code was specifically?
Overall goal • You will come to class on Wednesdaywith your research in hand. • You will be given time at the beginning of the period to discuss your research. • You must come to a consensus as to whether or not you will accept Napoleon as your dictator when he returns from Elba in class Wednesday. • You will be graded on your research-worth 15 points • You will also be graded on participation Wednesday-worth 10 points
