  2. TIMES ARE TOUGH • We are in a recession • WRONG • We are in the GREAT RECESSION • I should know, my market is known by the New York Times, Anderson Cooper 360 as the WORLDS’ CAPITOL OF THE GREAT RECESSION! • Unemployment over 31percent So I got lemons, now I make lemonade

DO WHAT OTHER INSPECTORS ARE NOT WILLING TO DO • Join your local realtors association • Attend, if all possible, weekly pitch/listing sessions • Attend monthly luncheon meetings • Host or sponsor a monthly luncheon meeting • Sponsor annual installation banquet dinners • Become a major sponsor of the realtor association IT IS ILLEGAL TO GIVE MONEY OR GIFTS TO REALTORS, BUT IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO GIVE TO AN ASSOCIATION/NON PROFIT (CONSULT YOUR TAX ADVISOR OR ATTORNEY)

  4. KNOW YOUR MARKET KNOW YOUR REALTORS • How many realtors are there • How many are listing agents vs. buyers’ agents • Concentrate on buyers’ agents • Which buyers’ agent closes more sales • How much is each realtor worth to you

  8. WHAT IS YOUR EXPERTISE • Home Inspector? • Isn’t This Your Competitors Expertise Also? • What Is Your True Expertise/ Qualifications? • What Makes You Stand Out More Than Them? • It’s Not Price, It’s Perceived Knowledge. • Do You Want The Cheapest Heart Surgeon? Or The Most Qualified?

  10. KNOW YOUR COMPETITORS • What is their expertise? How many are there? In my market there are: • 3 local inspectors (non CREIA or ASHI) Expertise: NONE • 2 out of town inspectors (1 CREIA, 1 ASHI) Expertise/qualifications CREIA & ASHI

  11. DO WHAT THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO DO AND YOU WILL SUCCEED • BECOME ASHI, CREIA, NACHI, NAHI CERTIFIED • BECOME FHA REGISTERED • BECOME HUD APPROVED • BECOME 203K CONSUTANT • BECOME USDA APPROVED IN OTHER WORDS, BECOME THE EXPERT AND LET YOUR COMPETITORS BECOME THE X

  12. WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER? • Radon • Infrared • Lead Inspections • Roof Inspections • Septic Inspections • Well Water Inspections DO THEY KNOW YOU OFFER THESE, OR ARE THESE YOUR TRADE SECRETS?
