AFCEA EDUCATION SUMMITCONTINUING EDUCATION VALUECEUs/CMUsAdam Owings, Washington DC Chapter • Government is still committed to improving cyber security and has business opportunities • Government guidance still endorses obtaining and maintaining certifications as valid justification for event attendance • AFCEA will coordinate with CompTIA and GIAC for pre-approval of event content for CEUs/CMUs • Sessions must be at least 60 minutes for consideration • Please coordinate early to be able to use the CEU/CMU info in promotion. Approval for CEUs/CMUs can take three weeks. • Download CEU request form with instructions from portal. • Contact Sheila McCoy smccoy@afcea.org or 703 631 6135 for questions.

  4. Recommendations • Match topic to your audience • Start early – especially WRT CEUs • Seek out presenter / host • Assign a lead, assemble a team • Regular meetings / status check • Walk through: physical space and WebEx • Marketing: early and often • Follow-up survey • Call us!
