Established Ground Rules for Mtgs • Ground Rules – Meeting Etiquette • Cell phones off or vibe, don’t text/emails, be on time, limit side conversations. • Meetings STANDARDS: • One topic at a time, one process at a time, balance participation, engage cognitive conflict, understand and agree on roles
DAC Meeting Norms Established • Expect and model professional behavior • Judicious use of humor, • Safe place for open thinking, • Don’t beat a dead horse • Disagreement is ok • Clear process for Balanced Participation: • Sm. group discussion when appropriate • Clear expectations for members • Deciding who talks next • Limit site-specific questions • Clear purpose: • Focus on solutions • Topics should represent the data and site majority • Honor time: • Agenda ahead of time • Time limits on agenda items • Honor time allotted for topic
Purpose of DAC • Two-way communication between sites & district without bias or slant • Explore solutions to problems • Support implementation of agreed upon initiatives • Keep student learning & achievement as main focus
Hot Topic Issues Discussed • Language STAR • Need additional training on site • Individual site concerns vary • Communicate solutions found by site personnel • Joanne will appoint a sub-group of teachers and admin to report to DCC • Discuss methods to improve curriculum implementation

ReviewedLEA Plan Overview - DRAFT • Plan focuses on improving learning • Handout review: • Eight major areas listed in handout • Summary of major plan objectives • Implement curriculum, instruction and assessment aligned with content standards • Provide support for high-priority students, including English learners, students with disabilities, and students performing below grade level
Common Core State Standards • Oct. 18th • Core State Standards workshop held for Admin. & Teachers – DAC members who teach ELA or Math were invited to attend • Nov. 29th– MATH • Common Core State Standards full-day in-depth workshop for teachers – register at BCOE website • Nov. 30th– ELA • Common Core State Standards full-day in-depth workshop for teachers – register at BCOE website
