We support… 1,100 teacher laptops (four-year lease) 400 “other staff” laptops 3,310 desktop computers 18,609 Chromebooks 1 to 1 in grades 5/6, (Intermediate), 7/8 (junior high), & 9-12 (high school) 4,193 iPads 1,703 telephones That’s over 29,000 devices – not including projectors, interactive boards, etc.!

About the AUG • In short, if you wouldn’t want Dr. Vinson and the School Board to see it, don’t view it on the Internet, email it or save it • No expectation of privacy • Internet browsing filtered and logged • Email is searchable and may be examined or monitored
Tools for Staff • All issued equipment belongs to Wylie ISD – even laptops and cell phones • All teachers given laptops with Windows 10 and Office 2016 • Please be careful with them, but please take them home and use them! • 5GB Internet connection for fast access
More Staff Tools • Microsoft Office 2016 • Get up to 5 installs Office 365 for PC, Mac, & phones for FREE! • https://portal.office.com • Login with username@wylieisd.net and WISD password • Cisco Unity Connection (voicemail Inbox) • Microsoft Skype for Business (IM, voice & video, desktop/app sharing) • Phone on teacher desk (not tied to voicemail)
Even MORE Staff Tools! • Discovery Learning (a.k.a., United Streaming) • Please do not store videos in H drive • Download to desktop, use, then delete • Can setup “Quick Lists” to get back to your favorites! • Skyward Gradebook with Parent Access • Good news – Helps parents keep tabs on their kids • Bad news – Teachers have to keep it up-to-date! • Shortcuts – www.wylieisd.net/skyward
Email Considerations • Deleted Items and Junk E-mail folders purged after 30 days • Sent Items purged after 60 days • Mailbox size limit for most is 450MB • Cannot send email when over limit • Save attachments in H: drive then delete email; cannot store email in H • Maximum email size in & out is 25MB

Tools for Students • Ceiling-mounted projector or SMART Panel in classrooms • Grades K-2: 6 iPads per classroom (1 for teacher) • Grades 3-4: 6 Chromebooks per classroom (all student devices) • Elementary Campuses – 2 carts of 25 iPads & 2 carts of 25 Chromebooks in Library • Grades 5-8: 1-1 Chromebooks to Students • High School – Now 1-1 Chromebooks – and students take them home

Support tickets • We use helpdesk from eduphoria! for technology requests but are moving to another ticketing solution this year • Submit a ticket when technology isn’t working • Please do not ask a tech to address an issue without a ticket • Techs’ evaluations reference helpdesk; no ticket, no credit • Helps us track issues • Cannot support personal devices (no personal printers, APs, etc.)
Who to Contact for Support • Please look for a helpdesk category for all support • Professional Development – Lee Hattaway • Website – after checking with campus webmaster, Doug Bellamy • Printers – all repairs done by Ricoh (check with campus secretary) • Skyward Gradebook – Campus Gradebook Trainer • Maintenance requests submitted to office personnel
Final Tips • Campus secretary can reset staff passwords • Computer lab aides and some others can reset student passwords (3-12) • Use +P to change your display options • Better to not open laptop lid/monitor when docked
