H-frame Easels - Having the shape of the letter H these easels are quite large, and are mostly preferred for for larger canvases. As they’re large in size, they’re easy to transport and aren't as sturdy as lighter easels. These easels come with drawers for storage and some can be folded. A-frame easels - Compared to the h-frame easels these easels are smaller and are very commonly used by artists and art students alike. The name is taken from the fact that the easel resembles the letter A, with two legs in front and one in the back that give a triangle formation that looks like the letter A.
