MISUG UPDATE cont. • NOGR084:Daily Grid Operations Summary Report • Background: • This NOGRR creates a report that will provide summary level data of the daily operations information which is currently provided hourly or more frequently for which the downloading of this data is extremely cumbersome; and restores visibility of operational data which was provided in the zonal market. • Board approved on May 2012 • During PRS February 2013 meeting review of pending project priorities, MPs decided to delay the implementation of this NOGR due to high cost estimate and assigned COPS/MISUG to follow up if it is still needed • Initial cost estimate was $300K- $500K • Current cost estimate by ERCOT staff is that it will be on the lower side • At November 12, 2013 MISUG meeting participants expressed strong support in developing this report and that it will provide valuable information daily to operations staff • ERCOT is asked to come back in January 2014 with more detailed information on which specific items in the report contribute most to the cost • Goal is to make a final recommendation to COPS/PRS in early 2014
MISUG UPDATE cont. • Reports Developed manually by ERCOT: Summary of information gathered by ERCOT: • 134 Reports manually produced by ERCOT staff • 95 Required by Sub Rules, Protocols or OBD • 39 Requested or self prompted • 15 Recommended to discontinue - eliminates ~500 hrs of manual work-SEE NEXT SLIDE FOR THE COMPLETE LIST • 119 Recommended to continue - ~25,000 hrs of manual work • 15 Recommended to be automated - ~4000 hrs of manual work to be automated
