Communities • When two or more groups of different organisms live together and interact with each other in the same area, they form a community.
Populations • All the organisms of the same species living in a certain place make up a population.
Habitats and Niches • The area or place where an organism lives in an ecosystem is called a habitat. • The specific role an organism has in its habitat is called its niche (nihch).
Niches and Adaptations • Characteristics that help organisms get food and water, protect themselves, and build homes are adaptations.
