LWP Phase IV- Implementation • Purpose of 205j Grant • Begin LWP Phase IV- Implementation • Encourage local government adoption/acceptance of Watershed Management Plan (WMP) • Develop a Coordinated Implementation Plan • Inform & educate local property owners about benefits of BMPs • Purpose of WTT Meetings • Select projects from Project Atlas • Advisory Role • Outreach and education • Local Government & Community Awareness • Purpose of Community Meetings • Awareness and education
Purpose of WTT Meetings What this is not: Discussion of scientific/technical rankings Editing or Modifying WAR, WMP or Project Atlas Formal Watershed Council What this is: Select projects based on additional criteria beyond what was used in previous phases Strengthening partnerships & developing new ones Develop informational materials for landowners
Accomplishments – Watershed Management Plan Recommendations include: • Agricultural BMPs • Point source control • Watershed protection • Some opportunities for improvement: • Sediment and erosion control enforcement • Crooked Creek watershed • Riparian buffer widths • Stormwater control in lower watershed • lack of land use plans for some • additional incorporation of LID in ordinance • monitoring
Accomplishments– Project Atlas Together we identified: • 38 Stream Opportunities • 15 in priority subwatersheds • 29 Wetland Opportunities • 12 in priority subwatersheds • 15 Stormwater BMP Opportunities • 10 in priority subwatersheds • Stream Preservation Opportunities • 46 identified as Tier 1 priorities, all in priority subwatersheds

Initial Selection of Projects From Project Atlas • Using the final criteria and rating system select water quality improving projects for implementation from Project Atlas. • This is a “draft” selection • 10 “high” rated projects across the board (stream preservation/restoration/enhancement, buffer restoration, stream bank stabilization, wetland preservation/enhancement, stream reach, stormwater BMPs)
