Summary • The status of some intertidal species recorded from Strangford Lough (known to be at the limits of their range in the north of Ireland), has been discussed • Gibbula umbilicalis is reported for the first time from the main body of Strangford Lough in 1999, where it is now abundant • Osilinus lineatus is reported for the first time from Strangford Lough in 2003 extending its northern limit on the east coast of Ireland by more than 17km. Settlement in the Narrows and main Lough took place progressively during the late 1990's and has continued into the years 2000 & 2001.
