HALAMAN : 51 Halaman E. ABSTRAKSI : Kata Kunci : Karakteristik tali baja mobil crane dengan kapasitas 20 ton dianalisis dalam penelitian. Karakteristik tersebut meliputi tarikan pada tali, luas area penampang, tegangan tali yang mendapat beban, tegangan kerja maksimum, tegangan aktual yang terjadi, dan umur tali. Hasilnya tarikan pada tali jauh lebih rendah dari beban putus maksimum. Tegangan tali akibat beban dan tegangan aktual yang terjadi kedua-duanya juga jauh lebih rendah dari pada kekuatan tali.
