2. Camlach tries to give Merlin a poisoned apricot • Camlach sees Merlin as an eventual threat to the throne which he would like to take over. Merlin finds him out because of his sight. At that moment he realizes Camlach wants him dead and he must watch out for him. It is also the first time he has wept.

3. Merlin meets Galapas • When Merlin goes into the cave he followed the falcon too he realized someone lived there. He finds out the man is named Galapas. Galapas also has the sight. Merlin and Galapas become good friends and Galapas gives Merlin lots of wisdom.

4. Merlin goes with his grandfather to go see the High King • Merlin asks if he can ride with them to go see the king because he could be helpful since he knows so many languages. He is very scared about going and almost throws up. “The gods only go with you if you put yourself in their path. And that takes courage.” This thought gives him the strength to carry on. This is a big growing up point for Merlin and it shows he is becoming more mature.

5. Merlin meets Ambrosius even though he doesn’t know yet he is his dad • On Merlin’s quest to find Ambrosius he accidently meets him in an unexpected way. Ambrosius takes Merlin into his home. The two instantly click and Merlin has a real good connection with him. Ambrosius hints that he knows Merlins mom but Merlin doesn’t pick up on it.

6. Merlin Watches Belasius at the sacrifice and learns about his religion. He also realizes Ambrosius is his dad • While going through the forest Merlin stumbles upon Belasius at a sacrifice ceremony. He fears that he will be in trouble for seeing something he wasn’t supposed too but Belasius assures him that Ambrosius wont allow that. Him and Uther both realize Ambrosius is Merlins dad.

7. Merlin and Ambrosius Talk • Merlin wants to know why his dad left his mom. So Ambrosius goes into detail the whole story about what happened. He then asks if Merlin was mad at him. Merlin tells him he isn't mad at all and he loves that they met. They have a great relationship and both of them want to help each other.

8. Galapas dies • On Merlin's way to find Vortimer he stops by the Crystal Cave to see Galapas. When he goes in he finds out that he had been killed. Galapas was a major influence in Merlin's life as a friend, teacher, and father figure. He buries him into the hill because he knew Galapas would be the one who would want to become one with nature.

9. Merlin Talks to Dinias • Dinias was Merlin's cousin and childhood bully. He accidently runs into him while staying at his grandfathers house and decides to go to the bar with him to see if he can get any information about the area. Dinias gets a little to drunk and loud and blows Merlin's cover. Then Merlin and Cadal get taken by these two guys in black.

10. Merlin is taken to Vortigern’s court • Blackbeard forces Merlin and his mother to go to Vortigern’s court in Dinas Brenin. At the court it is decided that they need to sacrifice Merlin so that the walls of Vortigern’s stronghold will stand. Merlin must use his wits so he can survive. He prophesies many things and then convinces to leave whales.

11. Merlin’s mom dies • Merlin's mom meant a lot too him and even though he left her to be with his dad he still loved her a lot. This is just another significant person to Merlin that dies and leaves him feeling lonely. Before she dies she tells Merlin to tell his father that “When I see him again, it will be time enough.”

12. Merlin visits the Giant’s Dance • When Merlin visits the Giants Dance he has a vision of a stone missing from an indentation in the ground within a circle of stones. It is a grave and he thinks the gods have led him there for a reason. He also sees Keri the nun whom he has feelings for. But he doesn’t allow her to seduce him because the gods wont allow it.

13. Merlin is sent to Ireland to break the spirit of the Irish before war breaks out. • The king of Ireland is threatening to kill Ambrosius but Ambrosius thinks Merlin can stop the war before it even happens. While staying at the Heart of Killare he finds a black stone that he thinks would it in the indentation at the great dance. He knows that the stone is the heart of Ireland and if he takes it back Britain will be protected forever. He figures out how to bring the stone home but he learns is father has fallen sick and died. He makes this his monument.

14. Merlin shows Uther his Fathers monument. • On December 20th, the winter soltice, Merlin shows Uther the great monument he has made for his father. The stones of the Great Dance have all been raised and at sunrise, the light goes across Ambrosius’s grave and he for fills his promise he would deck his grave with light.

15. Uther asks Merlin to bring Ygraine to him • Even though Uther told her Merlin he never wanted the help of him and his prophecies he calls upon Merlin to bring him and the beautiful wife of Gorlois together. Uther loves her very much. Merlin realizes this is his destiny. He must make sure they are together and have a child because one day he will become the greatest king.

16. Arthur is conceived • Merlin for fills Uther’s desire and hooks him and Ygraine up. Arthur is then conceived and Golois is mad that he has lost his beautiful wife. He is killed though when his troops attacked Uther. Uther then claims Ygraine as his own. Merlin rides away knowing his destiny will continue when Arthur is born.
