a. Paul spoke of the important things that are, investing in those things which are ETERNAL, rather than that which is here today and gone tomorrow.
b. Believers should invest PRAYERFUL time in the presence of God, for His choice of a mate for them.
1. The Bridegroom is looking for a bride who CHOOSES to love Him.
1. We were paid for by His BLOOD, which was shed for the entire world.
1. There are times in many of our marriages when our first love needs to be RENEWED.
a. It is possible to become so BUSY with the Lord’s work, that we forget the work of the Lord.
1. Like the betrothal period, we have made a PROMISE to the Lord to be present at the marriage supper of the Lamb, which is to take place in the future.
1. Leadership is going before, showing by EXAMPLE; dictatorship is ordering, and having the command obeyed by force, if necessary.
3. The husband is SPIRITUALLY responsible for his wife and family.
a. He should TEACH and minister the Word regularly, as head of the home.
b. The father is responsible for the family WORSHIP in his home.
c. The father trains his family in the proper principles of GIVING.
4. The husband is responsible for the MATERIAL needs of his wife and family.
a. A father is not only the spiritual leader of his home, but he is also the PROVIDER of his family.
b. Overseeing the family budget, and maintaining FINANCIAL integrity, is the husband’s responsibility.
5. The husband is responsible for the EMOTIONAL welfare of his family.
1. The husband is the HEAD of his wife, in the same way that Christ is the head of His Church (Bride).
