  2. What is a Rainbow? • A rainbow is a reflection of light through droplets in the earth’s atmosphere to create a beautiful arch.

  3. Color Pattern • The five colors that you will always see are,(In Order) Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet.

  4. Secondary Rainbows • Secondary rainbows are a double reflection in a drop of rain to create a double rainbow but in reverse order of color.(Twin Rainbow)

  5. Location of Rainbows • Rainbows caused by sunlight will always appear in the sky directly opposite of the sun’s location.

  6. Lunar Rainbow • A rainbow can be seen on bright moonlit nights. A rarely seen rainbow and has poor colors.

  7. Observing Rainbows • A rainbow is not actually in any one location in the sky. The position depends on the location of yourself and the sun.
