Basic Facts – • Svenska Simförbundet – Swedish Swimming Federation • The sport of swimming; Swimming (including Open Water), Diving, Water Polo and Synchronized Swimming is organized by the Swedish Swimming Federation. • 335 clubs. • 120 000 members. • Swimming on the 8th place among the most interesting sports in Sweden. (10:th place in the year 2006) * and Diving on 13th place among the most interesting sports in Sweden* • 21,0 % of the Swedish people (15+) is very interested in swimming. • 58 % of the Swedish people (15+) is interested in swimming. • Swimming is on the 6th place as a physical exercise with 870 00 practiser. • There are approx. 8-10 millions visits per year at official swimming pools • Swedish Swimming Federation organize every year FINA/ARENA World Cup in November and Arena Diving Champions Cup in February. • * Source: Sponsor Insight research ”Sponsor Navigator 2007”.
