  2. TOURISM PARTNERSHIP FUND (TPF)

  3. Program Mission • The Tourism Partnership Fund’s mission is to advance the economic benefits of tourism throughout the state by providing financial assistance to qualified partners for tourism marketing initiatives that attract visitors to and encourage visitor spending in South Carolina.

  4. Program Goals • To: • Generate a return on the state’s investment; • Carryout the tourism marketing and economic development mission of SCPRT; and • Support our tourism industry partners.

  5. Program Structure

  6. Eligible Applicants • Federal Non-Profit (501) • Federal Identification Number (FEIN) • Organizations specifically charged with marketing tourism to their specific city, county or region.

  7. ORGANIZATIONS MAY ONLY SUBMIT ONE TPF GRANT APPLICATION

  8. ESTABLISHED MARKET Counties collecting more than $900K ATAX • Beaufort, Greenville, Charleston, Horry, Georgetown, and Richland • TWO Grant Levels LEVEL ONE: • Maximum Award $500,000 (2:1 Match) • Matching Funds strictly from Private Sector. • 100 % Out-of-State Marketing

  9. (Established Market)LEVEL TWO: Maximum Award $400,000 (2:1 Match) Matching Funds from Organization and/or Private Sector. 100 % Out-of-State Marketing

  10. Fundable Components • Interactive Marketing • Print Media • Web Development/Enhancement • PR: Media Marketplace, Press Kits • Broadcast Media • Sales: Tradeshows, Meetings & Conventions, Group Tours • Other (Provide detailed explanation)

  11. DEVELOPING MARKET • 40 Counties collecting less than $900K ATAX • Maximum Award Amount: $200,000 • 1:1 Match • Out-of-State and/or In-State (Outside 100 Mile Radius)

  12. Fundable Components • Interactive Marketing • Print Media • Broadcast Media • Web Development/Enhancement • PR: Media marketplace, Press Kits • Sales: Tradeshows, Meetings & Conventions, Group Tour • Other (Provide detailed explanation)

  13. SPORTS MARKETING • All 46 Counties • Attract Sporting Events • Maximum Award Amount: $50,000 • 1:1 Match • Out-of-State Marketing

  14. Fundable Components • Interactive Marketing • Web Development/Enhancement • Broadcast Media • Advertising • PR: Media Marketplace, Press Kits • Sales: Tradeshows • Other (Provide detailed explanation)

  15. ATTRACTION MARKETING • All Counties • Attractions that charge admission • Maximum Award Amount: $40,000 • 1:1 Match • Out-of-State and/or In-State (Outside 50 Mile Radius)

Application • Requested information includes a brief comprehensive overview of your project, what your marketing needs are, responsibilities of all marketing partners, estimated costs, and projected economic benefits. • Overview • 1. Give a brief description of your PROJECT. • 2. Outline project goals and indicate strategies to obtain goals. • 3. Identify market segments (consumer, meetings/conventions, group tour, sports marketing, etc). Then identify and explain your target audience for each market segment (Demographic target: women, families, couples, seniors, etc., and Geographic target: Mid-West (which states), Southeast (which states) etc. • 4. Are you implementing new market initiatives? If so, what are they? Or, are you sustaining existing markets? If so, explain how you will sustain them. • 5. Outline your organization’s overall marketing campaign. Within your marketing campaign, identify those items seeking TPF grant support. • Performance Measures/Accountability • 1. Explain how this project will positively impact tourism tax revenue in your area/region. (Show calculations and projections). • 2. Describe all measurement methods used to tract the effectiveness of this project’s marketing efforts. (Inquiries, room nights booked, web site hits, travel show leads, etc.)

Sponsorship Grant Application • Describe your festival/event/marketing promotion in detail. • How does your organization plan to use this grant to promote your festival/event/area? • Provide the community and regional organizations that support your project. • How many tourists/travelers visited your area or attended your festival or event last year? • What benefits will your community receive by sponsoring this project?
