UK HealthCare ID Badge Update • WildCard Badge Project • UK campus-wide use of single ID badge and updated security system • Includes new badges, access and camera systems • New badges represent an improvement in technology for UKHC since they are open source and provide more flexibility • UK HealthCare • Later distribution for UKHC vs campus to allow for system updates • Kronos Payroll, Swisslog Tube System, SCM Rapid Access, etc. • UK HealthCare will be converting to an updated, more flexible security system • New access controllers and gateways • New and significantly improved security cameras
UK HealthCare ID Badge Update • What’s different from the old badge? • Two badges in one holder vs. one badge in the past • WildCard ID has the technology • UKHC specific badge for clear identification for patients, visitors and fellow staff • Mag stripe and bar codes for various functionality • Bar code added to front of UKHC badge cover • Can not be punctured in any way • Comes with badge holder

UK HealthCare ID Badge Update • Don’t panic! - During the badge distribution process the old badges will continue to work • Distribution : March – May • Some UK HealthCare colleges began obtaining new badges on March 1 • During most of March, UK PD/Security will continue to provide new badges primarily to College of Nursing, Pharmacy and Dentistry students, faculty and staff • New badges will be made at the Pav A or GSH Security offices • Security has expanded its hours to 7am – 7pm M-F • Evening and weekend hours will be provided • Old badges must be turned in to obtain a new badge • Any requested changes to name, credentials, title etc. will follow the current process and require a badge change form
UK HealthCare ID Badge Update • UKHC clinical areas (hospitals, clinics, College of Medicine) will be asked to obtain new badges in April and early May • Specific dates will be published in In the Loop, management listservs, CareWeb, etc. • To minimize lines at Security for obtaining a badge the schedule will include dates for obtaining your badge based on birth month • Areas that should wait further instructions before obtaining a badge • Anyone that works off campus and/or obtains access to a building off campus using their badge • Contracted employees • Vendors • Volunteers • Residents • Non-UK student learners • Offsite clinic staff • These and other areas will be included in a later badge distribution schedule and will receive further instructions
