  1. AOP 6: Exchange of radar data (a) To set up a radar data lists of Members (recommended: Thailand, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Cambodia, Viet Nam, China, HK, Japan, RoK- action sheet 2010)

Objectives: • To improve capacity of Members to provide timely and accurate user-oriented and friendly TC products and information (SG.6b,) • To enhance capacity of Members' typhoon-related observation and monitoring (SG.6c,) GOAL Reduced Loss of Life from Typhoon-related Disasters. (KRA 1) Minimized Typhoon-related Social and Economic Impacts. (KRA 2) Improved capacity to generate and provide accurate, timely and understandable information on typhoon-related threats (KRA 6)

Points to discuss for development of the future direction of AOP 6. • What the specific set of data is really needed for TC Members ? • Real time data ?? …How many stations or just the stations in the border of each country?... • How to exchange those data ?.... Do the existing Communication links are supported for data exchange ? • What are the next steps/ plans for the participating TC Member to do after radar data has been exchanged ? • Are there any supports ( financial & technical supports) to assist …..Who are the sponsors ? • The possibility of Utilizing radar data to do QPE/QPF …for improvement of the accuracy in heavy rain forecast/warning…? • others….
