PUSD Strategic Plan 3 to 5 Year Education and Business Plan
Student Learning • Increase the Average Composite Score on ACT • State Assessment Scores in Math and Reading • High School Graduation Rates for PUSD Students • Increase Enrollment in Current Signature School Programs • Demonstrate Sound Fiscal Management Through Captured Efficiencies Outside of the Classroom • Dollars in the Classroom (percentage from ADE report)
Data-Driven Instructional Audit • Piloted at 11 schools last year • Formalized the process this year in order to begin implementing it in all schools • Country Meadows chosen to test the new process • All Instructional and Curriculum Specialists have been trained in order to support the process moving forward • Nine teachers have been trained at Country Meadows to serve as leaders on the campus
Data-Driven AdvancED Accreditation • Worked with staff from all over the District to complete the audit of our PUSD systems • Teams were assigned to each Standard • Teams worked to report the findings on their standard • Standards Assessment Report (SAR) is complete and was submitted to AdvancED on December 22nd • Quality Assurance Review (QAR) Team will visit PUSD February 5-8 to check alignment to our SAR report
Capacity Development Peoria Teacher Evaluation Process • Developments since May, 2011 • Board approved the new Peoria Teacher Evaluation Process • Administrators have been through over 40 hours of training on the new Peoria Teacher Evaluation Process • Teachers have been through 4 modules of training on the new Peoria Teacher Evaluation Process • Teachers created goals and a self-reflection • All administrators have completed one evaluation on their non-continuing teachers (less than 3 years in PUSD)
Capacity Development Peoria Teacher Evaluation Process • Future Plans for Spring and Summer, 2012 • An electronic survey will be administered to all teachers and administrators about the Peoria Teacher Evaluation Process • Data will be used to gage progress and make adjustments • Committee of almost 100 teachers across several grades levels and content areas has been convened to look at adding the data piece for the 33% to 50% of student achievement data to the Peoria Teacher Evaluation Process per ARS 15-203 • Committee of principals and assistant principals has been convened to draft a new principal evaluation process that is aligned with the teacher evaluation process • Goal is to seek board approval in late April or early May
Capacity Development Attract, Retain, & Reward Effective Staff • Work to attain 100% Highly Qualified (HQ) workforce • Put systems in place streamline the dissemination of HQ applications to staff • Implementation of new Peoria Teacher Evaluation Process that identifies high performers • Supporting District Administrators with the improvement process for certified staff • Developing increased compensation plan for current District employees
