  4. Purpose • To show how gospel begins to work itself out in the church • To show the nature of the kingdom of God

  5. Theme • Kingdom of God will advance to every part of the earth • Luke tells the story of the church’s beginning and expansion, covering thirty-two years or so from Jesus’ ascension to Paul’s imprisonment
